BUT WHY?
It’s such a simple question that I hear a lot.
Why are you doing this? Why hasn’t a larger company done this already? Why create a start-up in the physical product space?
I mean they are valid questions, but unoriginal. Think Bigger. Literally. These Larger-than-life athletes have evolved since the ‘70s. Why haven’t you?
Most people understand there is a market, but don’t care enough about this larger-than-life athlete to do something for them. Well, I decided that I would do something about it. Someone has to. I have seen it too much in my career. Little issues that I have picked up through conversations informally that didn’t sit right with me talking with thousands of these athletes. Common themes came out and I was the one listening
Check the box product isn’t good enough anymore for this evolving athlete.
Fit matters. Availability matters. Storytelling and Branding matters.
Building Big Guy Confidence Matters.
The big guy is not one dimensional. Just like my .gif above shows. You truly can’t box in the big guy.
Big Guys are Multi-Dimensional
Protector. Goofy. Scary. Fun. Athletic. Strong. Caring. Determined.
You need to adapt to them and provide them with more, because that is what they deserve.
I am creating this brand to make sure that no one has to shop at boomer big and tall stores ever again. or feel bad they don’t fit mandated uniforms. or disappointed when a trend happens online and they go to their favorite sportswear brand and see that their size is ALREADY sold out because they didn’t forecast enough units.
Most of the world, doesn’t understand the issues that big guys face every day and the hoops that they jump through.
But I do and so does my team. The urgency is real and that’s why we do this.
We are changing purchasing behavior because good enough is not good enough.
We all know someone who fits this category, whether it is someone in your family, friend circle, co-worker, or it might even be YOU.
Isn’t it time the Big Guy Feels that Sportswear Love?
I know my high school self wishes there was a brand for me back in the day…Now there is.
